Poker770 Challenge

Poker770 Challenge - $17,70 no deposit bonus

A new free poker money deal is available on PokerSpace for its members. A $7,70 free poker money and a $10 free casino money can be claimed here.

I'd like to win as much money as I can (just like everyone else). My goal is to reach $1770. I'll post hands, screenshots and tournament results during the challenge.

I'm going to start playing the 20 cent 6-max SnGs. I like the Jackpot SnGs there - those are super good.. I've been told that the PLO10 tables are pretty juicy too :)

I try myself in this challenge because I didn't set any particular goal for 2011. I just want to improve, enjoy the games, enjoy the money, meet new people, be healthy, etc. I believe that I can accomplish my goal.

Poker770 is the member of iPoker Network. I am not a big fan of this network but the PokerSpace point deal increases it's value and I like having some extra and know that I have tiny edge against those are not members. PokerSpace points are awarded after the raked hands I play - 100 PS points are equal with $1 value but the formula of the PS point rewarding system is secret .

It is a double reward system because you get points for playing in real money on Poker770 (which you can spend on their site)  and you recieve points on PokerSpace too (which you can spend in the Points Store) ! It's like rakeback.. on sites where rakeback is not available.

This deal is: not available for US residents!

First win of 2011

Happy New Year! I had a fantastic start of 2011 because I won a $250 GTD HU MTT on 888 Poker.

click on the picture for better resolution
I'm going to play these tournament almost every day. There are 2 x $250 GTD HU MTTs on 888 Poker:
  • 21:10 CET
  • 22:10 CET
Both of tournaments are $5 buy-in games with +EV. I recommend the $2 buy-in Heads Up MTT with $100 GTD (running every day, 20:10 CET) too.

Maybe it'll be the year of Heads Up. Who knows.. I'm sure I'll grind and play as hard as I can.

I hope the new year brings a lot of win to you too.

New tournament type on PokerStars: Fifty50

FIFTY50

‘Fifty50’ is a type of one-table Sit & Go tournament. In a Fifty50 Sit & Go, the event ends when half of the entrants have been eliminated. For example, in a 10-player Fifty50 tournament, 5 will be paid. Half of the prize pool will be distributed equally among the 5 winners, and the other half of the prize pool will be distributed among those same 5 players based on the chip count percentages at the end of the event. The 6th-10th place finishers win nothing. So in a 10-player $10+$1 Fifty50, the prize pool is $100. Each of the final 5 finishers would receive $10 each, plus a percentage of the remaining $50 in the prize pool. You can find Fifty50 tournaments under ‘Sit & Go’ > ‘1-Table’ in the PokerStars lobby.
As a more detailed example, in a $300+$17 tournament with ten entrants, the total prize pool is $3,000. Each player starts with 1,500 chips.
Example Chips Chip % Chip Prize +Buy-in Total Prize
Player 1 4,300 28.67% $430 +$300 $730
Player 2 3,600 24.00% $330 +$300 $660
Player 3 3,100 20.67% $310 +$300 $610
Player 4 2,300 15.33% $230 +$300 $530
Player 5 1,700 11.33% $170 +$300 $470
Total 15,000 100.00% $1,500 +$1,500 $3,000

To calculate the value of Player 1’s chips, multiply half the prize pool ($1500) by Player 1’s portion of the total chips in play (4300/15000), a total of $430. Adding the returned buy-in awarded to each player who cashes results in Player 1’s total prize amount of $730 ($430+$300). As a formula, an individual’s payout would be expresses as:

payout = buy-in + (ending chip count) x (0.5 x total prize pool)

(total chips in play)

The Fifty50 tournament lobby displays the approximate amount per 100 chips to be paid out when the tournament ends. The value displayed in the Fifty50 tournament lobby is rounded down to the nearest cent, but payouts are calculated so that the entire prize pool is paid out. Note that the final payouts may experience small rounding differences in order to ensure that the total payouts equal the prize pool.
Due to their unique payout structure, Fifty50 tournaments are not eligible for any Tournament Leader Board points. You can find Fifty50 tournaments under ‘Sit & Go’ > ‘1-Table’ in the PokerStars lobby.

Boomswitch is still ON and Merry Christmas

WOW - what an amazing December! I'm doing fine on 888 Poker as you can see below:

Check out my stats here: Sharkscope stats

Yes, I'm fine and I'm playing the $5 buy-in $250 Guaranteed Heads Up MTTs on 888 Poker almost every day.

I am not yet ready to sum up this year's happenings but there were many things going on.

Even tough I'm going to write about 2010 later, I already have plans for 2011:
  • to work out & to be healthy (going to track it on this site: http://runtastic.com/)
  • to play poker & to be wealthy (lol joke) - want to make enough money to move up a few stakes/levels
  • to be a good affiliate - referring people to some poker sites and to PokerSpace
  • to teach poker - Thoughts of a donk
I might have missed a few things but I'll add them if they come to my mind.

I'm trying to qualify for the Heads Up cash battle vs Isildur1 on PokerStars. The Heads Up MTT qualifiers are running every day on PokerStars - $11 buy-in, 1st place gets a ticket to the weekly qualifier. It's like a normal Heads Up tournament with an added 1st place prize.

Christmas was great! Now I understand what's Christmas is all about and I'm very happy I could spend it with my family. I hope you enjoyed your time with your beloved family members and friends too.
Happy Holidays!
